In 2011, Slic Network Solutions began a 3-year endeavor to construct over 800 miles of fiber-optic cable throughout rural parts of St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties. This fiber-to-the-home offering will provide High-Speed Internet, Phone Service and Cable Television throughout the following services areas:

With the exception of the Brasher and Newton Falls service areas, these projects were made possible by a $33,161,409 grant and loan funding package from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Broadband Initiatives Program to bring broadband access to sparsely populated rural areas of the country.
Slic, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nicholville Telephone Company, was awarded the grant through the USDA Rural Development’s Rural Utilities Service.
